Kelly Lynn Colby

As Publisher and Editorial Director at Cursed Dragon Ship Publishing, Kelly Lynn Colby spends more hours editing than any other single responsibility. And she loves it. Working with new writers and watching them understand and improve gives her hope in future artists. Challenging experienced writers to go that extra step and hone in on skills that need polishing brings her a level of satisfaction she didn't know she could reach professionally. The publishing calendar, however, can only handle so many authors. That's why she offers her services to the writing community at large. She’s anxious to use her experience to help you take your creations to the next level in order to thrill readers and agents alike.

Kelly has spent the last ten years as a freelance editor and earned a Masters in Publishing in 2020. She brings all of that to the table to help you navigate the everchanging world of book production. She specializes in speculative fiction (horror, fantasy, science fiction) but also has extensive experience with historical fiction and contemporary fiction. She prefers partnering with authors to meet the author’s goals instead of forcing them to stick with any one standard practice. Contact her through her website at https://kellylynncolby.com for more information.

S. G. George

S. G. George has an unnatural love for all things punctuation and can not only visually spot the difference between an em dash and a hyphen but also when to use the former rather than the latter. She has worked as a freelance editor for eight years and the acquisitions editor for Cursed Dragon Ship Publishing for three. Monthly she teaches craft classes at the local writing group, is on the board of directors for the East Texas Writer's Guild, and travels to speak at conventions, pulling back the curtain on the acquisitions process. While both a traditional artist and tabletop player, she would rather be spending her time pouring over manuscripts and scribbling notes in the margins. We assume that she also likes rock music, mango drinks, her family, and long walks on the beach; but cannot confirm because she’s editing again.

Amber Helt

Amber Helt is a professional editor, published author, writing instructor, and editor coach with over ten years of experience working with traditional publishers and independent authors. She is the owner and managing editor of Rooted in Writing, an editorial agency that works with speculative fiction authors of all publishing paths to help their novels flourish in their competitive markets. Her editorial agency prides itself on strong client relationships and gardener-minded editing, where writers leave with not just a pruned manuscript but seeds to grow as authors in their next project. Outside of editing, Amber teaches line editing with the Editorial Freelancers Association and writes dark fantasy and science fiction novels.
